A shout out to Janet....thanks to your inspiration and great information on 72-hour kits, our family is much more prepared than we were a month ago!!! Last Monday I walked the isles at Wal-Mart and Costco and gathered food and items for our backpacks. I should've gone with a detailed list, but I didn't, so I just tried to remember all the great ideas you showcased! I came home, spilled out all the goods on the floor, and for FHE, we filled our backpacks. I wrote out a 3 day menu as we filled our bags thinking there would be a list that I would make to fill in the gaps and surprisingly, we had enough! The night started off with Heidi being frightened by the thought of emergencies, and ended with her excited about what was in her pack (clothes, underwear, raincoat, hygene items included)! The night was a huge success, and made me think "If ye are prepared, ye shall not fear." Now, I just need to keep the momentum going!
